A hand-moulded brick with a range of nuances

Premium is a hand-moulded brick from the Nuance range of Nelissen Brickworks. The brick is made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley. Then it gets upgraded with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.

The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere. The non-perforated brick is covered with sand on five sides. The Premium is provided with a possible oblong sloping groove at one side (frog, group 1).

The structure of the brick is formed by a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface.

The brick has a pink surface. The colour shades of these hand-moulded brick show a pastel-coloured nuance going from yellow to grey-blue, interspersed with orange-red and purple-red nuances. All this in a certain proportion.
